You received some new shoes today, brand new Nikes! You’re ‘branded” now, the first of many if Mummy has anything to do with it 😀 We do have a small problem though, it seems you need 2 pairs… another pair for your hands!
Creative?.. More Like Messy
As John Legend sang:
“What’s going on in that beautiful mind?”
In this case I agree with Mummy… Not much 😀 You’ve always like to make a mess then clean it up with a tissue, however now you’ve taken it to the next level. It’s nice to see you making sure nothing goes to waste…
Holiday Home
Just like you love to take things out and put them back in again, you loved to go in and come out your new house… over and over again! 😀 The house even came with a doorbell that Mummy taught you to use… I’m sure the neighbors are going to love you 😀 In the evening after creche you’ll be able to play outside, under strict supervision of course 🙂 Oh, you can now keep all your outside toys somewhere safe, somewhere ‘Billy Burglar’ can’t get them. I’m sure we’ll find all sorts in there eventually… stones… soil… anything that you can get your hands on in the garden.
Construction Begins
We had a big boxed delivered the other day and I’ve been keeping it in the garage, waiting for the perfect day to construct whats inside. Today was too perfect though, the sun was blazing down on me while I was hard at work, I’ve never sweat so much since last years’ summer holiday! 😀 I hope all my hard work is not in vein and you love what we bought you!
So Much Hair
With your ever growing hair we’re always looking into more ways to style it, Mummy came up with this one for a trip into the center. You were so excited, both for your new hair style and for going out, that you sprinted to the shoe drawer! You can see the expression on your face when you saw your hair, such amazement!
Terrace Time
It’s been so long since we’ve been out and sat on a terrace due to COVID-19, but today we decided to take a trip to Haarlem, to enjoy the sun. It feels strange to not have to ask for a child seat at a restaurant, only when you’re not eating though! When there’s food involved a seat is a must! 😀 We had a lovely day out, slowly walking around the city. Let’s hope life returns to normal and we can enjoy more days like this.
‘Ham, Ham, Ham’
I’ve seen crazier reactions but this kind of shows you how much you love ‘Gasca Zurli’. Well actually it tends to be this one song where a dog (spoiler: man in a suit) comes on at the beginning and waves! You’ve also learnt quite a few of your dance moves from their videos, the ballerina and frog dance moves 🙂 The rest of your moves you learnt from me, the cool ‘Hip-Hop’ dad 🙂 You’ll soon learn as I bust out the ‘Funky Robot’ in front of all your friends at school! 😀
If you want to see the video, see below.
Ready… Aim… Fire!!!
This is probably something we shouldn’t encourage at the dinner table, especially if you’re going to mimic everything at creche 🙂 However rules can be broken, on the rare occasion. So, just like your ‘Jack in the box’ you’ve discovered that you can fire missile like objects across the room by putting them on top. Makes for a fun little game!
Monkey Madness
Mummy always jokes that you’re looking for lice or fleas while on the changing mat 😀 Just like a little monkey you’re delving deep between your toes, seeing what you can find. There is however a good explanation for this, your socks! Some of your socks leave little cotton fluffs on your feet… and it drives you insane 🙂 Just as you hate dirty hands, you seem to also hate dirty feet.
Emily’s Magic Touch
Emily! Emily!
Emily and the Magic Torch.
Who knew that a simple torch could keep you busy for so long 🙂 The only problem we have is when we want to take it off you… maybe I shouldn’t of put Duracell batteries in it… it’ll be going on for a while! You love to change the modes, the flashing one makes you laugh, especially when you shine it in my face! 😀
Achoo
I’m on a roll for teaching you all the essential skills you’ll need when you’re older! 🙂 So if you ever need to get out of school, work or an appointment… you know what to do! As your teacher this will never work on me, don’t even think about it! 😀
Walk A Mile In My Shoes
Whenever one of us goes out to the garden you love to play with our shoes, you’re now even trying to walk in our shoes!! Today I thought I’d see how far you could actually get, I was mightily surprised that you made it across the living room and back 🙂 It just shoes how much of a love of shoes you already have, like Mother like Daughter 😀
Is It Getting Hot In Here?
Over the last few weeks we’ve been noticing your temperature in the evening has been hit 38, every day! After some visits to the doctors and blood checks, they sent us to the hospital to have a thorough check. Unfortunately as it’s Corona-virus time they wanted to isolate you and Mummy, even though you had tested negative for it. I had to quickly say my goodbyes and run home to grab some things to last you two. In total you and Mummy spent nearly two days and one night there, locked up together in a small room… not able to leave… Poor Mummy… I mean poor you two! 😀
In the end your temperature dropped and they let you both go… it’s always the way… you have tooth pain until you go to the dentist 🙂 Anyway, we’re now keeping a close watch over you, it may be the case you just run hot or it’s your teeth coming through, we just don’t know. At least we know it’s nothing serious but it’s still very worrying for us!
Table For Two?
We’ve had enough of your shenanigans at dinner so from now on you’re eating outside 😀 You can go as crazy as you want!! 🙂 I’m joking of course but now I’m thinking, would this work? Anyway, we got you your own table and chair set for the garden, mainly for when we give you paints, crayons, or anything else Mummy doesn’t want to clean up in the house!
I mentioned before the fun we’ll have with water. Today I went easy on you, next time when you’re able to use a water gun, I’m taking no prisoners! 😀
Hamster Loose In IKEA
It’s like one big playground! I remember the days where we could walk through IKEA with you tucked up nicely in a trolley. Sometimes you’d even sleep under your blanket while Mummy and I relaxed. Now while one of us looks at stuff the other chases you around as you try to grab everything you can get your sticky fingers on 😀 It’s best to give you something plastic or fluffy, it reduces your desire to grab other stuff.
And Bingo Was His Name ‘O’
Every time I try to record your singing I either miss it or you spot me and stop 🙂 This time I managed to grab a few seconds of your chorus, the Cat’s Chorus so to speak 😀 One of your favorite songs, in English and Romanian is Bingo. You also like it when I sing the ABC song to you, humming along like you know the words. We can’t wait to see you on stage for your first school play. When I was young I played Joseph… one day I’ll show you the video.
It’s A ‘Shoe’ In
Welkom Terug
Last week the day care opened again after 2 months on lock down, however we decided to keep you home for another week, just to let things settle down a bit. Obviously with spending 2 months at home with Mummy & me going back will be hard, for all of us! The plan was to ease you back in by you only spending 2 hours there today. When we dropped you off there were lots of water works 🙁 We waited anxiously for some pictures before picking you up.
Seems you spent a lot, if not all of your time in their arms, hugging Bunny and your toy blanket. Don’t worry though, in the afternoon Mummy & I treated you to lunch in front of the TV! Let’s hope your next time will go a little better. Plus you have to take into account you moved directly into a new class, with the bigger kids, a double shock to the system!
I’m not too sure who’s more engrossed in the cartoons 🙂 you or Mummy!
Etch A Sketch
When I was a kid one of my favorite toys was my ‘Etch A Sketch’, nowadays things have moved on a little but the same principle remains! It took Mummy a few tries to teach you how to reset it, after a lot of moaning and frustration from you of course. After a short time it became somewhat natural to you. Let the creativity… well… scribbles flow 🙂
Water Fight!
We’re still waiting for the day when we can have a proper water fight in the back garden i.e. when it’s warmer and you can understand why Daddy is spraying you with water 😀 For now we’ll settle for a bucket of water, some chalk and a small water gun 🙂 Can you guess who the main target was? If you take a look at your face in the pictures below I think you can easily work that out!
