On Your Bike Daughter

This morning Mummy took the car to work so it’s just you and me Little One, and my bike 🙂 I’m not too sure you fully understand how a bicycle helmet is supposed to work though!

Just so you know where you spent the first 2 years of your life, and if you ever want to know how to get to Happy Kids, I recorded it all for you 😀 We had a nice leisurely cycle… even though I hadn’t exercised in months! You liked to say ‘Hi’ to people as we went past, such a friendly girl.

We got there all safe and sound!

Happy 21st Birthday

Obviously I’m referring to the number of months you are, if you were really 21 then I would be…. well old! You’re getting older by the day, stronger by the day… so strong in fact you tried to lift your pouf (stool), it didn’t go well 🙂 But I like your spirit. Only 3 months to go until the big 2! The terrible 2’s… we can’t wait 😀

The Sun Is Shining…

… the weather is sweet! 🙂 Could Summer be finally here? Better not risk missing it and grab the pool and have some fun! It’s been over a year since me and you were in the pool together, remember Calella? I thought I’d try and bring back some memories by joining you this time, unfortunately most of the water left when I got in… I don’t think there’s much room for both of us 😀

Windy Days

It’s incredibly windy outside and the sun is shining, so today to took a trip out to the local lake. Considering the weather we were surprised to see a packed playground, you had a lot of fun in the sand and on the slide, next time we’ll bring some toys to play with. By the lake shore we found a strange netted contraption, you looked like a little fly trapped in a spiders web, very strange 😀

You Spin Me Right Round

I’m not too sure when this started but one day I saw you taking Teddy for a spin, literally! You were dancing with him in front of the TV, spinning him around in a circle. Feeling dizzy is the one of the worst things I can feel, you on the other hand seem to love it! The combination of spinning and falling down always makes you giggle. I had to put a stop to the fun when you got dangerously close to the furniture, let’s save this for in the park, then you can go crazy 😀

You Can Take A Child To A Potato…

… but you can’t make it eat 😀 The story of our lives right? With every new meal that Mummy or I come up with there’s always a fight to get you to eat it! This time it was a potato, which I have to admit, a very tasty potato! You really don’t know what you’re missing sometimes. When we don’t give you a piece of our cake THEN you somehow know what you’re missing… and you make us aware big time! 🙂

A Strong Attraction

You obviously don’t understand the concept of magnetism yet, however you do love it when things stick together. Mummy ordered you a new toy that combines both magnetic shapes and a small chalk board. We had a lot of fun making a pictures of us, I’m not too sure why you ended up with bunny ears but either way, you look cute!! 🙂

Nothing Is Safe

Seems like nothing is off limits these days! I can’t put my glasses down while doing my hair for a second… they’ll suddenly disappear if I do 😀 You do look mega cute in them but let’s hope you have better eyes than me! So no more TV or phone right? 🙂

Wake Up!

It’s going to be a wonderful weekend, weather wise, so we decided to take a trip to Utrecht. This means a 45 minute drive with you in the back, all alone… we see this as a test for a possible summer holiday in France/Belgium by car. We were pleasantly surprised by how quiet you were, admiring the scenery and other cars flying past your window. It wasn’t until around 10-15 minutes to go that you started to get restless… then suddenly you drifted off to sleep. Any other time this would of been perfect but you had to eat soon!

Our Little Secret

Ssssshhhhh… Don’t tell the people at the consultatiebureau when you go for your next weigh in, this will be our little secret OK? 🙂 I’ll destroy the negatives… and yes… Daddy is that old he knows what negatives are 😀

Before And After

The first Teddy I bought you was a purple woolly one from Prenatal. However the first one I bought you that you ‘saw’ was a white Nintje, bought from the hospital shop on the day you were born. As you can see from the below picture you’ve grown a little since then 🙂

Clowning Around

Now that you’re more mobile, which is a real understatement 🙂 Someone has to follow you wherever you go, even into the ‘bowels of the beast’, in this case the play climbing frame. Mummy drew the short straw while I filmed. Unfortunately she couldn’t follow you through the rollers so you had to be pulled back through, we didn’t want to have to call the fire brigade for a stuck baby! 😀

Princess Balloon

I’m not sure if I mentioned it at the time, when you were in hospital last week Mummy treated you to a balloon, a Princess Balloon! It matches your ‘Frozen’ tent that you’ve never played with 😀 However this thing you do use… and it’s great as a distraction while eating.

Picasso Eat Your Heart Out

Yet another Ode to your creative skills. It seems like they have a lot of experience with children and paint at day care 🙂 You were given a shape in a bag with some paint on, then you were allowed to go crazy with it, no mess at all. Well, that’s how I believe they did it. Either way the result was great, good going Little One! Getting you to stand still with it to take a picture… now that as hard!

Keep On Trucking

Your daycare workers have commented on how you like to play with the cars at creche. We’ve even spied on you a few times when picking you up, to see how much you like them. While I was out shopping I saw two bright yellow trucks and thought of you straight away! Like most of your toys you enjoyed them for 10 minutes 🙂 I’m not sure you understood that they weren’t big enough for you to sit on…

The Nightly Battle

We only have to mention the ‘D’ word and you start running. I think it’s the idea of you having to go to bed that causes you to go crazy. Plus you love to run around and make everything a little difficult for us *cough cough*… shopping 🙂 You’re going to have to improve on your hiding skills though… well at least don’t open the door to your play house.

Mirror Emily

I think we’ve mentioned this before that every time you get something new to wear, you love to look at yourself in the mirror. This time you gave yourself a fashion show 😀 I managed to catch some of it on video. I’m not too sure if you’re admiring yourself or whether you’re showing off to ‘Mirror Emily’ with your new clothes… We don’t like ‘Mirror Emily’ to feel left out so whenever we buy you something… we buy her the same 🙂

Happy Daddy/Tata/Papa Day

Thank you both for the lovely presents. If you can’t guess from the rhyme you customized some socks for me. Mummy also treated with me a T-shirt, because I don’t have enough, and a cute cup. Now every time I drink coffee I see your face on it, until it gets cold and fades away.

Mummy treated us with a nice meal at ‘De Beren’, The Bears in Dutch. It was pretty empty in there so having you run around wasn’t too much of a problem. They had teddy bears everywhere! This had you memorized as you explored the restaurant to find more and more of them.
