There are certain jobs that Mummy and I try to fob off on each other 😀 First it was changing your diaper… then it was putting you to bed… and now it’s brushing your teeth 😀 You’re not the most cooperative baby when it comes to cleaning, even though the toothpaste we use takes soooo lekker! We decided to try another approach and get another more grown up (but still baby) toothbrush, the results were the same 🙁 Once you gums calm down after healing I’m sure it’ll go better.

Last Day In London… For Real This Time
It’s travel day for real this time so you know what that means… photo montage!
Please don’t judge us… A lot of luggage for someone so small Navigating the London tube… lift anyone? Always happy on the tube First time flying British Airways All on board, ready to depart! No in-flight TV I’m afraid A small tantrum, I gave you my seat to help Home safe & relaxed!
The flight home was not the best, even cartoons couldn’t overcome your over tiredness 🙁 It’s lucky we’ll never see anyone on that plane again right? 😀 Anyway, you’re home now with all your toys and playing mat, you’ll see all your friends at creche tomorrow.
One More Night
We were extremely lucky as the company managing the apartments had one left for tonight. It was a little smaller but it was a roof above our heads, we grabbed it along with a crib for you little one 🙂 So what better to do now for one more night… go to Marble Arch and chase pigeons!
Oh, and spend an hour in Primark buying you even more clothes… I think you can guess who’s idea that was 😀 In the evening we headed back to the apartment to pack once again while you picked a fight with some toilet roll… the pictures and video will explain everything 🙂
‘Last’ Day In London
For our last day in London we decided to have a quiet one. A relaxing coffee in the morning while meeting new friends, you took a fancy to a student sitting next to us… or what it his laptop. Then a nice lunch in Hardrock Cafe before a final stroll in Hyde Park. Mummy and I never went inside Hardrock when we were last in London, this will be a new experience for us all!
‘Excuse me, does your laptop play cartoons like Daddies?’ ‘When I’m older I’m buying Daddy one of these :)’
The meal was great, I had the chicken and Mummy had the…. wait for it… Twisted Mac, Chicken & Cheese 😀 You’ll come to understand why that’s funny in the future 🙂 They even gave you a set of crayons and a puzzle book to keep you busy. They obviously didn’t know we had a secret to freeing up time to eat!… Cartoons! 😀
While the baby’s asleep it’s time for Mummy and I to relax 🙂
Today was supposed to be our last day in London but KLM had other ideas… our plane was cancelled as we were just about to leave the apartment complex 🙁 It seems we either have to get to London City airport in 45 minutes or fly to Copenhagen and transfer in the morning. We chose to stay another night and fly home the next day… the fun begins…
…to be continued
Walking In The Footsteps Of The Queen
In the morning we took a stroll around Buckingham Palace, walking in the footsteps of the Queen 🙂 You even got to have your diaper changed in the ‘Royal Baby Change Room’ 😀 OK, it wasn’t exactly royal but it was one of the poshest toilets I’d seen in a while. Mummy and I took turns in carrying you around in the baby carrier, our poor backs! You laughed and chuckled at all the people walking around, making many friends as usual.
For the remainder of the day we took a stroll down to Big Ben, The London Eye and The Houses of Parliament. Unfortunately Big Ben was under renovation so we have no pictures of that, no good ones anyway 🙁 We had an interesting walk over the bridge, you loved the guy playing the bagpipes, the expression on your face was one of amazement and bewilderment at the same time 🙂
We finished the day off with a nice meal together, our last evening in London 🙁 It seems Mummy and I were having a competition to see who could feed you the most from our plate. When it came to dessert it was your lucky day, a way of us saying we’re lucky to have you 🙂 Plus Mummy loves those chubby cheeks and wants to keep them!
Princess Visits The Queen
In the evening we took a walk to Buckingham Palace to see if we could meet the Queen, which Queen I hear you say? The Queen of England! We enjoyed the walk there and I even treated you to a go in the baby carrier 🙂 You’re still able to squeeze into it, I’m not sure for how long though 🙂
Unfortunately when we got there we discovered the Queen wasn’t in 🙁 So we bought some tickets to go inside for the next day and spent some time walking around before finally grabbing something to eat.
Bonus video:
Lost In Marks & Sparks
For lunch we grabbed something to eat in Marks & Spencer’s, Mummy’s subtle plan to visit the baby section is what I’m thinking… and I was totally right! You enjoyed your lunch… you didn’t think much to the spinach Mummy gave you though 😀
And as I said, I was totally right… to the baby section we went 😀 You basically grabbed the first cuddly thing you could get your hands on 😀
Guess what Mummy bought you, your first ‘laptop’! I’m not sure if that’s a good or bad thing 😀 You however love it but I already hate the music it plays… I do have to admit though, it’s pretty cool for a toy 🙂
Someone Wants To Join The Choir
Look how cute you are with your little pink hair clips 🙂 You’re certainly ready for a day of adventure in London!
In the morning we headed out to the passport office so that I could pickup my new passport. We can’t use the tube as most of the stations don’t have a lift… weird right? you’re not complaining though as you simply love the bus 🙂 When you’re on our lap you look out the window a lot at the passing buildings. When you discovered the stop button you spent ages trying to press it with no luck 🙁
After picking up my passport we went to see Westminster Cathedral, a quick visit before finding somewhere for lunch. As it was approaching the end of your nap time you were still behind your snooze curtain. Upon entering the church and waking up you decided you wanted to join the choir, singing your sleepy song to everyone 🙂 One of the priests stopped to talk to you, she thought you were just adorable, a true blessing 😀
Welcome To The ‘Jungle’… Well… London Zoo
On the Sunday we met up with auntie Sarah and headed to London Zoo. We were very lucky with the weather as it was a beautiful day. You and auntie Sarah got on like a house on fire, she thought you were adorable! We can’t blame her right? 😀 You saw many animals throughout the Zoo however you were more entertained by all the other children we saw. When you’re a little older we’re definitely taking you to the Amsterdam Zoo!
Bonus pictures:
I got dizzy just filming this 😀
London Baby… Here We Come!
Today we’re heading off to the big city, the capital of England… London Baby! You know what this means right?.. we have a day of travel ahead of us, it’s going to be a long one. One of the most exciting things about this holiday for you is you’ll be meeting your auntie for the first time, auntie Sarah. She can’t wait to meet you so we have an action packed day planned for tomorrow, London Zoo!
Travelling in style Fueling up before heading out Prepared and ready for departure Mummy & Daddy Last minute unpacking… The big sleep before flying Such a cutie Saying Hello to Grandma & Grandad Always focused on our safety One way to keep you quiet on the plane London Baby…Sleepy Baby! Riding the tube Arrival in the hotel Already to explore the city Midnight snack… I think we have enough Our little human Yes, this room is acceptable, just like home 🙂
A ‘Step’ In The Right Direction
You’ve passed your 10 month birthday and we’re still waiting for that moment when you’re moving on your own steam. It’s getting very close as you can see from the video below! You’ll get there little one, you seem to have focused your energy on developing your cognitive abilities 🙂 Over the next month we’re going to increase your baby gym exercises and move your favorite toys out of reach 🙂
The Big Girl Cup
One of the requirements for going to the next group at creche is to be able to use a sippy cup. We’ve been trying for a while now and it seems to be paying off as you’re getting used to it. Just like you can hold your milk you’re able to hold and use the cup. The only problem is the actual drinking as you tend to bite and chew on the nozzle instead of sucking 🙁 Small steps for such a cute little one!
A Cold Wet Day In Hoorn
As yesterday we couldn’t spend my birthday doing something special, today we decided to go to Hoorn. Rain was predicted and rain is what we got 🙁 Oh… and one more thing, Hoorn is situated on the edge of a lake so we also got wind. When I got out the car to setup your buggy the rain was coming in sideways!! The town was pretty much deserted so we decided to find somewhere too eat… and sit out the rain!
Mummy treated me to, as they called it, a ‘Mensteak’. It was perfectly cooked and as a birthday dinner it was one of the best I’ve had in a while. You thoroughly enjoy the dessert, a shared assortment of desserts for 2 people… and child 😀
The rain stopped so we decided to quickly go get a picture of us by the lake. As you can see it’s rather windy still. This is the best picture I was able to take, in the others I took you can’t see Mummy’s face due to her hair 😀
You were so eager to go back home to the warmth of our house, and of course two boxes full of toys… you thought you would try to get a head start… Sorry little one, it’ll be a few years before your feet can reach the pedals 😀
Princess Peach Comes To Stay
After my birthday celebrations we gave you a late 10 month present… it’s only 1 day late and I’m going to blame Amazon for that 😀 In the end we didn’t get you the bike as shown in at least 2 previous posts, we instead invited a princess to stay. Now I can already here you saying… ‘But Daddy… there isn’t room for 2 princesses under one roof…’ 🙂 It’s fine little one, princess is only small but with a big mouth… and she’s about the same too! 😀 😀
At first you didn’t know what to make of her and you were a little upset 🙁 You grew to like her though and cuddles were had all round.
Happy Birthday To Me
Today is my birthday and we celebrated together with some lovely carrot cake. You loved the cake, sticking your fingers into the icing on top. At one point you even tried to feed me some, such a kind little girl 🙂 Thanks again for the card you made me little one. As a thank you I gave you the wrapping paper to play with 😀
Look What I Made You Daddy
It’s A Deal, You Sleep… I Sleep
Yes, you’re still in the ‘hell no, I’m not going to sleep’ stage. So you and I came up with a compromise, I’d rock you to sleep and you’d allow me to sleep for a bit as well. Mummy was the sneaky photographer this time 😀 I had to do this as we wanted to leave the house and we needed to sync up your sleeping schedule. And yes… it was extremely hot in there, especially with you on my lap!
Fort Thomas
When I was a kid, and like most children, I created many forts with chairs and sheets. As you’re a little too young to do this yourself we helped you a little 🙂 Mummy put you in the ‘naughty box’ for a bit… OK… it’s not really called that but it does look like a jail right? 🙂
After a while I decided to help you out a little and added a few more pillows to create a proper fort! Welcome to Fort Thomas 🙂 When you’re a little older Mummy and I will help you build the biggest castle for our little Princess.
Paddling In The Pool?… Bath?… No… Sink!
Mummy has a few rituals… like running after you when I’m taking you to bed… like playing with you in the mirror while she changes you after your bath. Another one is washing your hands and face under the tap after food. Today we couldn’t get the pool out so Mummy allowed you to have a quick paddle… in the sink 😀 As always you loved splashing around in the water!
I Found A Design Flaw
I can’t really blame the makers of the play mat as they never had a baby like you to test out their product 😀 However… I wonder if we could make some money with this. Companies pay us… in this case you… to test their products out to destruction 🙂 I’m sure there’s a business model there somewhere right?! From the expression on your face you were saying… ‘It just fell apart in my hands… honest guvnor!’ 🙂
