It’s been decided that you’re moving to the next group at creche in April. Currently you’re in the ‘Vleermuisjes’ (Bats) group and your new group is going to be the ‘Spookjes’ (ghosts). There will be a transition period over 4 days where you spend a few hours with them each time, to get used to the new children and teachers. Today you spent 4 hours in your new class, from the pictures you had a great time!

Look Mummy, 1 Hand!
I’ve touched on the fact that we’re walking you from the car to creche and back again each day, today was no different. Well, maybe it was… can you count the number of hands Mummy is holding you with? Yes, 1! After waving to your friends inside Mummy led you all the way to the car. We had to be extremely careful to avoid the cars, someone wanted to walk right down the middle of the road! 😀 Our little girl is growing up!
First Playdate
Today you have your first play date with a boy called Nolan. He’s in your group at creche and as you play together a lot we arranged this ‘party’. While Mummy and I chatted and had a coffee with his parents you and him had some fun! He showed you all his toys and most importantly, where his daddy keeps the remote controls. I think you would’ve played with his console as well if it wasn’t a PlayStation, you only have experience with Daddy’s Xbox 😀
Just A Usual Day
I was going to call this post ‘Hulk Smash’ but I wanted to stress the point that this is just a normal day for us 🙂 Except for milestones you really have to do something crazy to get us to react in the way we used to. The same way you’re getting used to us scaring you, we’re getting used to all your shenanigans 😀 I mean what is strange about putting a shopping trolley on your head and throwing it across the room?!?!… right?
Jealous Much?
I’m not really sure how we discovered this but I think it has to do with the phase you’re going through at the moment i.e. when Mummy is around you no longer want to be in my arms. If she’s not there then you’re happy to be carried around by me all day but once you see her… it’s all you want. We decided to see what would happen if I picked Mummy up… the result was highly amusing and somewhat confusing! 😀 We even tried it the other way around with me sitting on the table and Mummy pretending to lift me up… you also started to cry 😀 Crazy!
Sharing Is Caring
Old McDonald Had Another Farm
We had blue sky, until we left the house, so we decided to take a trip to the farm. The last time we were here was when you were 7 months old, back in May last year. If you want to refresh your memory click here.
We had a fun time. You got to meet a sheep up close and personal and during their feeding time they also escaped. I tried to get them back in without much luck…. I wouldn’t make a good shepherd. Afterwards we stopped off at the same playground as last time where you achieved yet another milestone, your first swing on your own!
Emily & The Giant Strawberry
For dessert today you had two surprises, grapes & strawberries! After it came clear to you that we weren’t going to hand feed you the grapes, you came up with a novel way to eat them, like a little piggy! The funniest moment was when you got half a grape stuck between your upper lip and nose, however it didn’t stop you from eating it! As for the strawberries it seems you’re practicing for a speed eating competition! Each one disappeared quicker than the one before 😀 I’m glad we found something you love!
Team Building
So after your success at creche with building towers we brought out your desk to try and recreate it, all together of course as a family, a sort of team building exercise with blocks 😀 You spent most of your time getting in and out of the desk before using the chair as a desk… however you liked the stacked dice but I do have to admit… I helped you a little 🙂

Build It And They Will Come
The destroyer has become a creator 😀 When I saw these pictures come through from creche I had my doubts at first (I’m sorry!) that you did this, well… without some help. When I came to pick you up I was told that you’d spent a lot of time and concentration building the tower and of course, you destroyed it afterwards 🙂 I think this is a huge achievement, that’s a 5 cube tower! Bravo! Good job Little One!
You Know The Drill
A routine helps you learn words, actions and eventually the ability to tie these together. Mummy has taught you a cute little routine for when you come in from outside. You put your hands on the toilet door while looking at yourself in the mirror. You then remove one arm at a time to allow us to take your jacket off. You then lift one foot at a time so we can take your shoes off 🙂 It reminds me of cop movies where they’re padding suspects down looking for weapons, in our case we’re looking for hidden toys or sweets! 😀
Happy Mărțișor
Today is the first day of spring and in Romania they celebrate Mărțișor. I managed to find on Etsy some handmade broaches for both you and Mummy. I think you can guess who got which 🙂 I even managed to find some flowers that matched the traditional colors. In theory you’re supposed to wear it until the 8th, Romanian Mother’s Day, but something tells me it wouldn’t last long as creche 😀
